Privacy Policy
ProductRaise ("ProductRaise," "we," "us," or "our") is a fundraising platform operated by LipRevolt. ProductRaise lets youth sports teams, schools, clubs, and other organizations ("Group Leads" and their "Participants") run product-based fundraising campaigns in partnership with brands ("Brand Admins"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the ProductRaise web application (the "Service"), how we use and share it, and the choices available to you. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
This Policy does not cover information collected by third-party services we link to or rely on, including the Shopify-hosted storefronts where shoppers complete purchases. See "Third-Party Services" below.
Information We Collect
- Account information: When you sign up as a Group Lead, join a group as a Participant, or are invited as a Brand Admin, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider).
- Participant details: If you join a fundraising group, we may collect your mobile phone number (if you opt in to text messages), a personal fundraising goal, and an optional personal story ("why") that you choose to share on your fundraising page.
- Photos: You may upload a profile photo, and Group Leads and Brand Admins may upload group banners and marketing photos. These images are stored in our cloud storage and may be publicly visible on fundraising and storefront pages.
- Tax and payout information: If you are a Group Lead who becomes eligible for a payout, we collect the information needed to pay you and to meet IRS reporting requirements, including your legal name, business name (if any), Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number, mailing address, and bank routing and account numbers. Social Security/Employer Identification Numbers and bank account details are encrypted before they are stored and are never displayed in full within the Service.
- Billing information for brands: Brand Admins' organizations are billed a platform fee through Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers; Stripe processes and stores that information under its own privacy policy.
- Communications: If you contact us, or if we send you account, campaign, or marketing communications by email or text message, we retain records of those communications and your delivery/consent status (for example, whether you opted in to SMS).
- Usage data: We automatically collect limited technical information when you use the Service, such as browser type, device information, IP address, pages visited, and general usage patterns, primarily through Vercel Analytics.
- Shopper and checkout data: When a shopper completes a purchase, checkout takes place entirely on Shopify's platform. We do not receive or store the shopper's payment card details, and we only receive limited order information (such as which products were purchased and the associated campaign) needed to track fundraising progress.
How We Use Information
- Create and administer accounts for Group Leads, Participants, Brand Admins, and platform administrators;
- Operate fundraising campaigns, including displaying leaderboards, progress bars, and Participant fundraising pages;
- Process and report payouts to Group Leads, including preparing any required tax forms;
- Invoice Brand Admins for platform fees;
- Send transactional emails and, where you have consented, text messages related to your account, campaign updates, and fundraising nudges;
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
- Maintain and improve the Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your information for third-party advertising.
Text Messaging (SMS)
If you provide a mobile phone number and check the applicable consent box, you agree to receive text messages from ProductRaise related to your fundraising campaign, such as reminders to share your fundraising link. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using the Service. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by contacting us at the email address below. We use Twilio to deliver text messages, and message delivery data may be shared with Twilio for that purpose.
How We Share Information
- With Brand Admins: If you participate in a fundraising campaign run in partnership with a brand, that brand's administrators can see campaign and Participant performance data, such as names, sales totals, and leaderboard standing, needed to manage the campaign.
- With service providers: We use third-party vendors to help operate the Service, including Supabase (database and authentication), Shopify (storefronts and checkout), Stripe (billing and invoicing), Twilio (text messaging), Resend (transactional email), and Vercel (hosting and analytics). These providers process personal information on our behalf and are contractually restricted from using it for any other purpose.
- For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of ProductRaise, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: If ProductRaise is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or a successor policy.
- With your consent: We may share information for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection or with your consent.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypting Social Security/Employer Identification Numbers and bank account details at rest, and restricting access to personal data through row-level database security and role-based admin access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations (including tax record-keeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correction: You can review and update most of your account information directly within the Service, or by contacting us.
- Deletion: You may request that we delete your account and associated personal information, subject to our need to retain certain records, such as tax and payout records, for legal and accounting purposes.
- Text messages: You may opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP or contacting us.
- Marketing emails: You may unsubscribe from non-essential marketing emails using the link in those emails; you will still receive transactional messages related to your account and active campaigns.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to know what information we hold about you, to request its deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and Group Lead and Brand Admin accounts require the account holder to be at least 18 years old. Where a minor participates in a campaign as a Participant, we expect a parent, guardian, or coach acting as Group Lead to supervise that participation and to consent to any collection of the minor's information, such as a first name or personal fundraising page, on their behalf. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how the Service is used, including through Vercel Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect parts of the Service.
Third-Party Services
The Service links to and integrates with third-party platforms, including the Shopify-hosted storefronts where purchases are completed. Those third parties have their own privacy policies and terms, and we encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.
International Users
ProductRaise is operated from the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date below and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
